Remember when parents told you
not to sit so close to the monitor as you might damage your eyes? Well, they
were right and now you’re sitting there with your huge glasses on, thinking:
‘Why didn’t I listen to them?’ And you’d think that today’s kids are spared
from the painful experience you went through since they have Smartphones and
little devices that don’t radiate as much.
Oh, you’ve never been so wrong
in your life. But, what can be done? Will you rob them of their precious childhood?
What else will they have to remember when they get older? How else do you
expect them to cherish the moments spent in front of the screen later on?
Waiting for their crush to text them? Or those more keen on playing games;
keeping their score up?
Okay, let us suggest something
new. It’s almost guaranteed that you’ve heard about it, but let’s go through it
again. So, cell-phones are bad, tablets are bad, technology is bad overall – we
get it; we’re on the same page. But, what would we be without it. Let’s face
it, no matter how hard it’s to admit. We’re practically dependent on it.
Back on topic now, the new
thing. Augmented reality is all that it is. You know how playing games was
always a great pleasure for you? Exactly that’s where the advice of the parents
was coming from. We know people who wouldn’t even bother to get up and go
outside to catch some fresh air until they reach a certain score, or a point in
the game where they feel satisfied.
Now, we don’t say it’s a bad
thing, since everyone profits from it, especially the gaming companies, but
think of the possibilities you’ll have once augmented reality is implemented in
the gaming process. Think about it, every single one of your unfulfilled wishes
will now finally come true. And no, we’re not referring to your crush from
seventh grade who will fall over heals for you. What we mean to say is,
shooting zombies, or talking to ghosts, or even going on missions is now made
available with the help of real-life movements.
This enhanced reality will enable
you to have the time of your life just by following a few simple steps. It’s
not rocket science anyway! All you need to do is buy a Smartphone (which you
already have) download applications, install them on the phone and start
playing. Say you’re playing basketball. Just point the camera to the nearest
place you’d like to serve as a basket, and start throwing the ball in it (with
your actual hands!) holding the phone over them so the movements can be seen on
the display.
You know how it works, the explanation
was near to pretty unnecessary, but yeah. Stick to it and win big.
